After 11 years of serving participants of Twin Cities R!SE and leading this organization with passion and excellence, Shereese Turner, Director of Programs and Operations, is leaving to start a new journey with Habitat for Humanity. We will miss her here dearly, but she will always be an important part of the TCR family.
Below, Shereese reflects on her time with Twin Cities R!SE:
The best decision I’ve ever made…a career in non-profit
There comes a time when one is called upon to take on a challenge much greater than one could ever imagine. I’ve had the distinct pleasure to embark on a Non-Profit career in 2007 with Twin Cities R!SE best career move yet! For 11 years I’ve had the distinct pleasure to coach, facilitate, collaborate and build relationships with other community based organizations. I’m often reminded that it wasn’t by chance I fell into this field, but it was my calling, my purpose!
Nothing is more gratifying than when you share your own personal story of determination and resilience and how so many non-profits contributed to, and impacted your own life. I too, have a story most like those we serve, which is why it’s so important to recognize and value stories in this field. I am committed to dedicating my passion, skills and abilities in making sure transformations and dreams are possible for all no matter the circumstances! I’m on a journey…a journey of hope, public service, quality and effective leadership.
